Greetings from Dr. Cynthia (Freeman) Morris "Faith and Patience" during Covid19...

Greetings Family of God!  “I am so ready for this coronavirus pandemic to be over!”  I hear these words every day, several times a day from countless individuals.  It is evident that this pandemic is taking a physical and psychological toll on people everywhere.  It is testing the faith of Christians all over the world.  No matter how quickly we want this situation behind us I believe God is saying “This will be over when I say it’s over and not one minute earlier.  When My will is accomplished this too shall end.” What do we do in the meantime?

As believers we must demonstrate faith and patience during this time of uncertainty and tribulation.  Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “The substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”  We must have faith that God is working all things out for our good regardless of how long it takes to manifest.  We hold fast to our faith in God by reading and meditating on His Word.  As we focus on the Word of God it will increase our faith and diminish our anxieties as the Father works out His masterplan during this difficult time.  We cannot and should not use our faith to prematurely force God’s hand.  Besides He will not allow such fleshly manipulation to order Him around.  God will not be played like a puppet.  Sometimes what appears to contradict the will of the Lord can be more spiritually significant and beneficial to God’s plan and His people than we might realize.  Consider the crucifixion of Christ.  Had Satan known what God was really doing in that situation he would have done everything he could to stop it.  Even the disciples, Peter in particular, because of their scriptural ignorance if possible, would have tried to prevent the plan of redemption from manifesting.   Like Satan they could not see the bigger picture.  Have faith that God knows what He is doing and through this COVID-19 situation He is working in us a far greater and eternal weight of glory than we could ever imagine.  If we try to prematurely stop the process taking place right now, because of the temporary pain we are experiencing we will never receive the promise of God it is designed to produce in our lives individually and the Church collectively.  Be faithful no matter what!

Patience is defined as forbearance, fortitude, and patient endurance. It is the ability to endure persecution and ill treatment.  It denotes the ability of a person to exercise restraint.  The limitations due to the COVID-19 pandemic has made many people so impatient to get things back to normal they are willing to defy state and federal mandates to appease their flesh.  Thereby, placing themselves in harm’s way.  Being impatient will make you do very foolish things.  It causes people to act on impulse instead of operating in God’s wisdom concerning this matter.  Somethings cannot be rushed. We live in a culture where patience is not valued nor encouraged. However, God through the Holy Spirit has given us the fruit of the Spirit of long suffering (Galatians 5:22).

Hebrews 6:12 states “Be imitators of those who through faith (lean on God with absolute trust and confidence in Him and His power) and by patient endurance (even when suffering) are (now) inheriting the promises.”  Know that God is doing a great work in you and in this situation.  Stay in faith.  Allow patience to have her perfect work in your heart and life as the process of God’s will unfolds during this COVID-19 pandemic (James 1:4).  Endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (II Timothy 2:3).  Stop trying to rush God because of your impatience and spiritual immaturity.  When I was a little girl my mother use to say, “God may not come when you want Him, but He’s always right on time.”  This still applies to us today.  Amen!

Blessings, Favor, Peace, & Psalm 91 be unto you and your family. I love you all.
